The newest addition to the Downtown Miamioffice market will arrive in August. After slowing down construction for more than a year, the Foram Group announced plans Wednesday to ramp up leasing efforts in preparation for the August opening of 600 Brickell at Brickell World Plaza. The 600,000-square-foot, 40-story building was formerly known as Brickell Financial Centre.

Foram is touting the building's technology and sustainability features. It will be the first Cisco Connected Commercial Office Building in partnership with Cisco Systems. Underground flber-optic connections will allow tenants to transfer large amounts of data with top security in record speeds.

The project is also pre-certified as LEED Platinum, the highest level available from the U.S. Green Building Council and one of only 13 high-rise office buildings in the world to achieve those standards.

The project will feature a 30,000-square-foot public plaza with restaurants, a stage and a 60-foot fountain. Brickell World Plaza is expected to become a venue for large community events.

The newest building arrives as the Downtown Miami office market is already facing a glut of vacant space, with the opening of two new office buildings last year.
